The breaking-change badge started as a hypothesis; reader feedback on Immich and Jellyfin confirms it is the feature people bookmark for. Today refreshes Immich and Jellyfin. Both release at high frequency, and both have attracted the most specific reader signal: missed DB migrations and plugin-breaking builds are real pain points. Ollama joins as a third refresh candidate given its rapid release cadence in the local-AI space. Two apps are proposed for catalog expansion: Penpot, an open-source design and prototyping tool with a steady release rhythm, and Homarr, a self-hosted dashboard distinct enough from Homepage to serve a different audience segment. The product from here is the habit. A weekly rhythm of checking what changed and whether it is safe to update, backed by stack dashboards and EOL pages, is what makes people return.
